For overnight pee containers i wash out Planters peanut containers (hard plastic ones) and refill them with filtered water. That way they serve as handy fast water containers then used for bathroom needs. Beats stashing just empty containers.

Writer obviously is not a prepper and just wrote this picking here & there from the internet. Didn't tell us anything & was misleading as well.

Invest in a water compressor. It'll save you tons of space!

Nobody needs to drink a gallon of water per day, it's unhealthy. Too much water is bad for the heart, can cause swelling of the brain, and cause other organs to shutdown. Medical science says excess fluid in the body can take a variety of forms, from belly bloating and swollen ankles to nausea, persistent coughing, and fatigue. My advice is drink when you're thirsty, but go easy, one glass at a time.

Water barrels as sold are too expensive to buy from home depot or Amazon. Just remember that a garbage can isn't a garbage can until you put garbage in it, it's just a plastic tub. Home Depot sells 45 gallon cans with flip lid and wheels for less than $40. "But those aren't food grade blah blah blah." I already run every drop of water through a counter top filter because I live in a rural area with high usage of pesticides and herbicides. You should already have a Berkey or Alexapur for filtering your tap water or well water.

If you are lucky, you may be able to find used barrels that contained vegetable oils or vinegar, like in this article, but I have found those hard to get because demand is so high right now.
