Dehydrators are inexpensive and very useful. I just did batches of carrots and bananas. Apples are coming on now and I do lots off them. Vacuum seal and they stay good for years.
Five days above 90* in Northern Indiana does not happen often which is why a food dehydrator is the only practical way to dry fruit here. My husband has already used ours for batches of sun-dried tomatoes and is moving on to apples now.
