So much focus is put on food, and rightly so, but preppers must be aware that there are other resources that are potential risk factors from government, natural disasters, or unnatural disasters.
Detaching from government sounds much easier than it will prove to be for many (most?) of the population. Especially if they receive any amount of income from government, whether pensions, Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, etc. Divorcing ourselves from government is a laudable goal, and I wish we all could do so, but in the main it will prove to be a difficult task.
I built my own Solar Cart (am an EE). But most ppl are better off buying a decent solar "generator.' Once that's done, you need more solar panels than you think. About 1500 W in the SW, twice that up north.
