Corporate America is daring us to call them out over their ties to Communist China. We should, and not just because it's the patriotic thing. As the economy gets worse, it makes sense to go local.
I started making the effort to avoid anything made in China 8 years ago. I felt like I was just throwing my money away. Made in China shit doesn't last very long and I was just replacing things every year or in some cases every few months. When I started looking for made in USA products I found a lot. In fact from one company, All American Clothing Company, I found a t-shirt that was printed with NOT MADE IN CHINA. And I do get a lot of good comments when I wear it. I refuse to buy made in overseas sweatshops garbage, unless I absolutely can't find it made here. Then I have to decide if I really need it or can I live without it. Almost every time, I can live without it. Clothing is the easiest to find. Other things can be a little more challenging. And occasionally there are surprises along the way. I have been wearing Merrell shoes for almost twenty years. They last for years and never cause pain in my feet. Something I can't say about any other brand of shoes I've worn in the past 30 years.
